Priests Rebuked for Polluting the Offerings

1
Chapter 1
6 A son honors a father, and a servant his lord. If I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a lord, where is my terror? says the LORD of Hosts to you priests who despise my name. You say, "In what way have we despised your name?" 7 You offer defiled bread on my altar, and you say, "In what have we defiled it?" when you say, "The table of the LORD is despised." 8 And when you present a blind animal for the sacrifice—is it not evil? And when you present a lame or sick animal—is it not evil? Present it to your governor: will he accept you? Or will he lift up his face? says the LORD of Hosts. 9 And now, please entreat the face of God, that he may be gracious to us from your hand. This has come from you—will he accept you? says the LORD of Hosts. 10 Who is there even among you who will shut the doors and not light my altar for nothing? There is no delight in you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will not accept an offering from your hand. 11 For from the rising of the sun until its setting, my name is great among the nations. And in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure offering—for my name is great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts. 12 And you profane it by saying, "The table of the Lord is defiled, and its fruit—its despised fruit—you have eaten." 13 You say, "See, it is wearisome," and you sniff at it, says the LORD of Hosts. You bring what is stolen, the lame, and the sick, and you bring the offering to the Lord, but I do not accept it from your hand, says the LORD. 14 Cursed is the deceiver who has in his flock a male, and he vows and sacrifices a marred one to the Lord; for I am a great king, says the LORD of Hosts, and my name is feared among the nations.
